Invitado Simposio de Empresas: Giovanni Staurenghi

El Dr. Giovanni Staurenghi, de Italia, especialista en retina y vítreo, estará presente en las Jornadas CAo 2015 en uno de los simposios que organizará la Industria.

Prof. Giovanni Staurenghi, presently Professor of Ophthalmology is Chairman of the University Eye Clinic and Director of the University Eye Clinic Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences "Luigi Sacco" at "Luigi Sacco Hospital in Milan Italy.

He got his degree at the University of Pavia (Italy) in 1986 and his residency at the University of Milan (Italy) in 1990. He was research fellow at the Schepens Eye Research Institute from 1991 to 1992 and Visiting Scientist at the same Institute from 1992 to 1993. He became associate professor in 1999 and full professor in 2007.

His research, publications and lectures have an important bearing on retinal degeneration; in particular his work is oriented on different types of imaging and treatment.

He has been a member of ARVO since 1988, Macula Society since 2004, Ophthalmic Photographer Society since 2006 and American Academy of Ophthalmology since 2007. He was part of the Annual Meeting Program Committee for ARVO from 2008 to 2010.

He is a scientific advisor of the Digital Angiography Reading Center (DARe)and visiting professor and consultant for the Belfast Ophthalmic Reading Center at the Central Angiographic Resource Facility (CARF).

He is a member of the Editorial Board of IOVS and silver ARVO fellow.

He acts as reviewer in many international scientific journals (in alphabetical order): American Journal of Ophthalmology, Archives of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, European Journal of Ophthalmology, Graefe's Archives of Ophthalmology, International Ophthalmology, IOVS, Ophthalmology, Ophthalmologica, Retina.
